News & Announcements

Husky Time

"Husky Time" is a program designed to provide a place for certified teachers to help your child to get a start on and help with their daily classwork and to receive additional support in critical grade-level reading, writing, and math concepts. All students who have classwork and/or need extra help are welcome to attend
Each student must:
- Come prepared with Chromebook, classwork and materials. No one may attend without classwork!
- Raise hand for assistance
- Observe library “quiet etiquette” and school rules per the student handbook
- Take the late bus, have an on-time ride, or permission to walk home.
Husky Time Days & Hours: Monday thru Thursday - 3:15 to 4:00 p.m.

The Late Bus Please Note: Late buses provide transportation to the school building nearest your home. Students will be picked up at WIS at approximately 4:00 p.m. and dropped off at:
Britten School, located at 10110 Gladstone Street
Westchester Middle School, located at 1620 Norfolk Avenue
Westchester Primary School, located at 2400 Downing Avenue
PLEASE NOTE: Husky will not run the month of January, on School Improvement half days or teacher faculty meeting days. Please visit the school website to view the year calendar.

If you are interested in having your student attend, please click on the title below.

Please give us a least a 24 hours notice of your request. For instance if you are filling it out on Monday, we would expect them to attend on Tuesday. This will allow time for their teacher to ensure they have work to complete during their Husky Time. "Husky Time" is an “as you need it”, voluntary activity. This permission slip means they can come, not they must come.

WIS Spirit Days

Friday, December 17th - WIS Spiritwear or School Colors, Red, Black or White
Wednesday, December 22nd - Ugly Sweater Day

WPTC WINTER Party - Wednesday, December 22nd

Students will participate in a winter craft and winder-themed game. Due to food allergies, we don't allow the exchange of candy or edible items. If you would like to send in items like pencils, erasers, or stickers that are themed, that is acceptable. Thank you for your cooperation!
